Rentable Plastic Boxes Are The Way To Move

Forget the waste and mess associated with cardboard boxes—the most expedient and ecofriendly way to move is with FrogBox.

SAVE TIME & AVOID STRESS | Anyone who has ever packed up their belongings to switch dwellings doesn’t need to take the Holmes and Rahe Life Changes Scale Stress Test to know moving is stressful. Anything that makes moving house easier has our stamp of approval, which is why we love FrogBox, the company that delivers reusable plastic moving boxes and supplies to your old home (or office) and then picks them up at your new one.

Box Me Up

FrogBox BoxesVancouverite Sarah Lacombe, who operates a home and office organizing service, has moved twice recently, both times with the help of FrogBox. “What I love is the convenience of their drop-off and pick-up service,” says Lacombe, “and that the boxes snap shut easily without needing anything messy like tape, plus stack uniformly one on top of the other. . . . Our movers even mentioned how easy they were to stack in their truck.”

Lacombe says buying pre-used paper boxes from companies like Econo Moving & Storage in North Vancouver costs less that renting FrogBoxes (using FrogBoxes costs roughly the same as buying new cardboard boxes), but she went with FrogBox because using them was a more efficient use of her time.

It was also better for the environment if you consider that plastic FrogBoxes can be used hundreds of times before being fully recycled, while cardboard boxes can be used on average only twice before recycling.

FrogBox pricing is determined by the number of boxes you need and the amount of time you need them for. For example, you can rent a bundle of 25 boxes (enough for a one-bedroom apartment) for $79 a week; 70 boxes (enough for a four-bedroom home) will cost you $199. —Ruth Rainey
