Quick Little Workouts For Sedentary Types

These efficient, targeted, quick little workouts are great for sedentary types.

weight lifting - istockSAVE TIME + ENERGY | Before I got involved with this online magazine, I worked out pretty hard at least four times a week. Now it’s just twice—if I’m lucky. Most of the time I sit in front of a computer screen; I can actually feel my bottom deflating (dare I say spreading?) as I type these words. Yikes.

It’s hard to stay in shape when you sit for a living, but I do not intend to let my whole bod to go south without putting up a fight. So I won’t get bored I need a multitude of seriously quick and efficient workout routines I can do in street clothes (if I need to) in my weensy office space.

Thankfully, I’ve already got cardio covered by jumping rope in 10 one-minute increments spread throughout the day (you can read all about it in a previous Frugalbits post). But spot exercises, particularly anything involving butt and thigh blasting, had me flummoxed—that is until I discovered the amazing 10 Minute Solution.

The 10 Minute Solution

The 10 Minute Solution is a series of exercise DVDs designed for people who don’t have a lot of time to work out. Each of the dozen-plus themed DVDs has five different 10-minute workout segments. As the literature says: “Split [the segments] into 5 separate workouts, mix-and-match your favorites to fit your schedule each day, or do them all together for one incredible, body-transforming workout.”

I don’t know about body transforming, but even after doing one 10-minute segment with purpose I feel like I’m getting somewhere. The routines are hard enough to satisfy the decently fit. Beginners can use them too if they want, or they could opt for one of the beginners’ workout discs.

I love that 10 Minute Solution workouts offer challenging routines led by a single trainer who gives very clear and precise directions. I love that they are an excellent investment for under $20 each.  And I love that they have workouts for every taste and preference from fitness ball and Pilates routines, to my personal favourite, Belly, Butt & Thigh Blasters, which comes with two free sculpting loops (that aren’t half bad).

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some blasting to do. —C. Rule

Reading my daily Frugalbits I saw this post. With key words like ’10 minutes’ ‘sedentary’ and ‘clear and precise directions’ I knew this was for me! I used to workout and plan a comeback… these DVDs are perfect to get me started! Great deal… Thank you Frugalbits!!!
