Get Nood Now: They’re Closing In Canada

With prices slashed in a closing sale, these New Objects Of Desire are flying out the door.

Nood Bed and Bedding

STEALS & DEALS | —27-01-12—Nood, the New Zealand/Australia-based furniture and housewares retailer known for good modern design at reasonable prices, is shutting down operations in Canada. Their killer closeout sale is currently underway with everything in their two Metro Vancouver stores at 50 to 75 percent off the regular price. Though Nood won’t close its doors permanently until early March, we can’t imagine there’ll be much left to purchase by then (maybe its fabulous in-store hanging light fixtures?). Stuff is flying out of there really fast.

Here’s what we like best of what’s left.

Two of Nood’s great offerings are in extremely short supply: its fabulous reproduction furniture (there may be a few pieces) and its great 100 percent cotton bedding (both are pictured above). At 70 percent off on the bedding (sets starting at $32.99), we believe most of it won’t last past this weekend.

Nood Bamboo Towels

Ecofriendly towels in incredibly soft bamboo and cotton—washcloths, hand and bath towels—in green, purple, dark smoke and white are plentiful at present, but look for these to go quickly this weekend (bath towels, normally $30 each, are going for $14.99).

Nood Greenwich Dinnerware

We really like Nood’s white Greenwich porcelain dishes, which remind us a little of Sophie Conran’s dinnerware for Portmeirion. Currently there is plenty of stock, but that could change quickly (regularly $11.95 dinner plates are just $4.50).

Among the things we love at Nood are all of their glassware, serving pieces and storage containers, any or all of which would make excellent, practical—not to mention gorgeous—gifts.
Better get down there this weekend. —eds

I heard in the store today that the staff are sure they’ll all be closing earlier than anticipated. There is very little stock left and though no dates have been confirmed, it’s the word on the street.
