How To Make An Edible Place Card Super Quick
These unconventional place cards are beautiful, organic, yummy and take only minutes to make.
EASY & QUICK | Silver and pewter are traditional materials for decorating and never go out of fashion. These metal place markers were created by cutting bannerlike shapes with scissors from a disposable aluminum baking sheet.
Placing the cut-out banners onto a towel, I used a ballpoint pen to write the name of each guest, pressing quite hard. Try this several times on scraps of aluminum first to get the feel of it. Rinse off any ink that may have adhered to the metal, then use dressmakers pins to attach the banners to the pears at four points to create a riveted look.
When choosing pears, be sure to check that they will stand up without toppling over; I have found plump and symmetrical Bosch pears to be well suited to this task. Depending on your tablescape, you might want to consider using different fruit: small apples or oranges work well, too. —Brendan Power
