How To Become A Successful Pinup Girl

Like millions of others, I am hooked on Pinterest, the hugely popular virtual bulletin board website.

ON THE DOWNLOAD | OMG! Just what I needed, another way to waste huge amounts of time on social media. I was already maintaining Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn accounts—now my up-to-the-minute tech friend Giorgio  (vanhit.com) was suggesting I jump on Pinterest, the social media website that allows you to organize and share images you find on the web. That was eight months ago when it was just gaining steam, and he sent me the link for an invitation because you need one to join. “It’s going to blow up,” he told me, and it did—to the moon!

In January, I (along with 11 million others, according to the Wall Street Journal) scrutinized the site; in early February, I added my name to Pinterest’s quick-growing list of subscribers. And though I’ve got a long way to go when it comes to collecting cool images and gaining followers—Vancouver early adopter Jan Halvarson over at Poppytalk (CLICK HERE for her Pinterest page), the international design blog and arts and crafts market, has 88 individual boards (each with dozens of images) and almost 24,000 followers—I can see where this virtual bulletin board system will be a great way to catalogue and preserve things that visually resonate with me.

How To Use Pinterest

With seven virtual bulletin boards and a total of just 19 images (I’ve started pin boards for a few things I love such as string lights and blue and white dishes), I’m obviously still feeling my way around the Pinterverse, which is why I redirect you to a video and a blog post that have helped me better understand the social-media-based tool. CLICK HERE to watch a good video on how to use Pinterest; CLICK HERE for 13 Reasons to love Pinterest. —C Rule
